The Protesters, Ah Yes the Protesters...

:Isn't there something inherently wrong with sending your 10 year old kid to do your protesting for you because you are afraid of a meager fine and a few hours in jail?

“No it isn't rare, it's what we do, we raise up or children,” said Flip Benham, director of Operation Save America. “You'll find us not this week, but next week outside a high school bringing the gospel.”

For a father who was once in jail for sexual battery, Heldreth says teaching his children ethics early is important. He says he cried tears of happiness when his son was arrested.

“Looking at where my family is and where I've come from is just amazing,” he said.

....Sounds like another fine upstanding American to me, hmmm...

Isn’t there something inherently wrong with delaying people who have valid reasons to be at the hospice? And in some cases delaying people so that they miss the last few minutes of a relative’s life?

Jennifer Johnson, barefoot and in her pajamas, ran to her grandfather's bedside once a hospice worker said his death was moments away.

She got there — one minute too late.

...selfish bastards...

Isn't there something inherently wrong with standing outside a place where people go to end their lives and cheering and screaming? Or do they not care about the other residents of the hospice?

The Rev. Thaddeus Malanowski said he gave Schiavo a drop of wine on her tongue but could not give her a fleck of bread because her tongue was dry.

The priest's announcement drew applause and cheers from the crowd, which spent most of the day heckling police and protesting loudly. The noise prompted Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler, to come out and ask protesters to tone down their behavior.

...ignorant bastards...

Isn't there something inherently wrong with claiming to be 'Pro-Life' and then putting out a contract on two people's lives? Oh wait I forgot it's called 'Pro-(selective)life'.

”A North Carolina man was charged by the FBI on Friday with offering a $250,000 bounty for the murder of Michael Schiavo, the husband of a brain-damaged woman dying in a hospice after years of legal wrangling with her parents.”

...dumbass bastards...

Isn't there something inherently wrong with trying to rob a store so you can get a gun and do God knows what with?

”Mitchell told deputies he decided to take action to rescue Terri Schiavo. They say at about 6PM he determined he was going to rob a firearms business. So, he went to a local store and bought a box cutter and went to Randall's Firearms, Inc. on Seminole Blvd.”
The owner Randal McKensey was in the store. Mitchell entered the store, deputies say with intent to rob the store and steal a gun, but the owner held him at gunpoint."

...stupid bastards...

There is nothing wrong with protesting; protesting is an integral part of our rights as American’s. However protesting at a hospice where people come to live out the final months of their lives is not an appropriate place to gather. There are around 70 other people currently residing at the hospice where Terri Schiavo is at. That is 70 other families that are dealing with death, the last thing they want added to their plates is a bunch of self-righteous people and signs with the words 'murder', killers' and 'fascist' on them.

This of course represents the type of people who put anti-abortion t-shirts on their 8 year old kids. They are selfish, ignorant and just downright rude. I guess they can't help it though; being pawns for the religious right seems to be the new 'hip' thing to do these days. I guess it's about time for me to get rid of that 'Darwin Fish' off the back of my car and replace it with a yellow ribbon.

...ah yes he will; and he will be judging you too...

*before you leave a comment please heed this (because it's me, not Bill who is looking out for you); don't start your comment with "Isn't it inherently..." that is just going to make you look like an idiot.*

Richard Alan Meywes, of Fairview, N.C., allegedly wrote an e-mail, which was forwarded to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday, that also placed a $50,000 bounty for the death of a judge in the case. The FBI said the threat did not identify a specific judge.

Just because these people are self proclaimed christians and not of muslim dissent does not mean they are not as radical as foreign terrorists.

FEMA's definition of terrorism:

Terrorism is the use of force or violence against persons or property in violation of the criminal laws of the United States for purposes of intimidation, coercion or ransom. Terrorists often use threats to create fear among the public, to try to convince citizens that their government is powerless to prevent terrorism, and to get immediate publicity for their causes.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) categorizes terrorism in the United States as one of two types--domestic terrorism or international terrorism.

Domestic terrorism involves groups or individuals whose terrorist activities are directed at elements of our government or population without foreign direction.

I think this alone warrants a totally different discussion on whether these people should be charged with acts of terrorism. How do you put a bounty on a judges head in this day and age of violence in the courts and not call it terrorism?

And why are the parents of the 10 year old not being charged with endangering the welfare of a minor?

We all sit in shock when we see pictures of young Arab children holding rifles and burning American flags, Why aren't we just as shocked here?

And no - I would not condone using my child to support a cause I'M supportive of. Using kids as puppets for propoganda is a slimey trick, not a lesson in proper morals.

"not" should be "now"

In addition to bothering the hospice patients, apparently the demonstrators have been so disruptive that they have forced a nearby elementary school to ship the kids off to a different school, fearing for the safety of the children due to the increasingly emotional (and increasingly unstable) protesters.

You know those same people fight to keep "smut"off TV so they don't have to talk to thier kids about "sex and perversion" yet now all those families (plus all of OUR familile) have to explain to our kids about this circus and the obscene theatrics surrounding it.
