Karl Rove you have declared war
But perhaps the most important difference between conservatives and liberals can be found in the area of national security. Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 and the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers. In the wake of 9/11, conservatives believed it was time to unleash the might and power of the United States military against the Taliban; in the wake of 9/11, liberals believed it was time to… submit a petition. I am not joking. Submitting a petition is precisely what Moveon.org did. It was a petition imploring the powers that be” to “use moderation and restraint in responding to the… terrorist attacks against the United States.”
Karl Rove when you said that you declared war against every American who thinks for him/her self. You especially declared war against the 80% of all people who live in Manhattan and didn't vote for Bush in the last election. Who were the first civilian targets in modern American history? The planes and us.
We wanted revenge, god did we want revenge. If war had been declared soon after 9/11 and we were going after the right enemy we would have been its biggest supporter. But when war was declared on March 9, 2003, we didn't understand the purpose, or who the enemy was.
You and your president are losing in every poll so you thought that you would bring moderate Republicans back into the fold. Isn't working is it?
BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW
If you do that you just might have a chance of not committing political suicide. Because as Cranky states you are doing a great job of uniting the Democratic party.
Somehow I don't think that moderate reasonable Republicans will fall for your very sick rhetoric. It's a call to arms that's working; just not the way you thought it would work.
I have included a link to an article I copied from The New York Times in my personal blog about the first Stuyvestant High School class to begin their high school career with the Trade Center still standing, watch the buildings fall a week later and to spend the rest of their high school career in the shadow of no towers, to use Art Spiegleman's incredible words.
Collectively these kids will quietly and casually influence more people on their first day of university than Karl Rove can hope to do over his lifetime.
They take nothing for granted anymore, as the last quote in the article so eloquently shows.

It's amazing how Republicans believe it's ok for THEM to lie with rhetoric but when Democrats use rhetoric it's a cause for alarm and outrage. While I don't agree with everything the Democratic Party does, I could never be a Republican. Republicans set too many double standards, they take the side of big business too often and they rely on rhetoric far too often when circumstances make them look bad. Anyone who condones Karl Rove's rhetoric should not be taken seriously. His crap is at least as bad if not much worse than the crap that Howard Dean says. How can Republicans condemn rhetoric one day, say we need to end rhetoric in politics the next day and then condone their own rhetoric the following day? That's exactly what they do.

I hope that you're right but...
They just love putting every person who disagrees with them down. Sometimes I read Republican blogs and try to figure out what issue they're talking about.
That's impossible since all they do is make fun of "liberals." I hope that they continue making fun of liberals, and that Karl Rove continues to talk. They're just screwing themselves.

Rove nailed it. Do your homework. Check out quotes by Michael Moore, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, and co. The rest of your are a bunch of hypocrits. None of you objected to Dean's rhetoric (which came before Rove) of Durbin's (which came before Rove) etc. P.S. We keep making fun of you, and you keep losing elections. Now I'm laughing out loud.

I have no idea what you're trying to say. How did Rove nail it? Why should I check out quotes by Michael Moore, etc.? What do they have to do with me?
You (using "you" as you used "your") assume we all think exactly the same about every issue, because you all do. Critical thinking at its finest.
Keep on making fun of us. We enjoy it also.
I, personally, am proud that Howard Dean is chairman of the DNC. Makes me respect the Democratic party a bit more.

Power to the people Pia - the kids at SHS may ignight a real fire of opposition. Let's hope it grows into a conflagration that clenses our government of the corrupt individuals and morally bankrupt people that are leading us right now.
