At least 2,156 US military personnel died because of WRONG intelligence

He repeated the acknowledgements he made in recent speeches that much of the pre-war intelligence about Saddam Hussein's weapons programs turned out to be wrong. The March 2003 invasion still was justified because it removed a continuing threat to the U.S., Bush said. He vowed again to ignore critics who say the U.S. should begin withdrawing troops from Iraq.

We went to war because of false intelligence, and AT LEAST 2,156 US MILITARY PERSONNEL HAVE DIED

The number of U.S. troops was increased this fall to 160,000 from about 138,000 because of concerns about a rise in violence ahead of the country's October and December elections. Since the March 2003 U.S.-led invasion, at least 2,156 U.S. military personnel have died in Iraq, according to Department of Defense figures.

Fortunately there is still a Democratic Party

Senator Carl Levin, a Michigan Democrat, said on NBC's ``Meet the Press'' program that the Bush administration appears to have ignored provisions in the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act that require judicial approval before the National Security Agency can monitor telephone calls and e-mail within the U.S.

Will the Judiciary Committee be allowed to do their job?

Republican Senator Arlen Specter, appearing on CNN's ``Late Edition,'' said the Judiciary Committee he leads will hold hearings on the issue. ``There are limits to what the president can do under the Constitution,'' Specter, of Pennsylvania, said. ``Whether it was legal is a matter that ought to be examined.''

I believe in America; I believe that our country was founded upon the principles of democracy.  I don't believe that the current administration believes in democracy.  They act as if they're above the law.

Bush's speech tonight taunted people.  Almost blackmailing us into saying that this is a just war; and that for the troops and their parents we should be silent.

I can't believe for a second that most parents who lost a child in this war believes that it was for a good cause.

Using troops, dead military personnel, and their parents to further an agenda explicitly shows how sick this administration is

So, who do we hold responsible? The President, House and Senate or the people who actually presented the intelligence?

That's a great question. I would go with the people who gathered the intelligence.

However the president is the commander-in-chief and is responsible for their actions.

The president declared war; the Congress affirmed it

I think in this case it's all who should be held accountable and responsible; with the president coming first
