Making Up Sources and Checking Them Twice
Pia over at Bring it On has some thoughts on using sources and I think she summed it up pretty nicely, blogs are not the places you go to obtain your news, information or facts when writing a piece for your own blog.
They are opinion pieces that might help you find what you are looking for but that's all. I like to equate blogs to everyone sitting around the dinner table talking politics but instead of everyone throwing out unsubstantiated blurbs they now have boat loads of information (i.e. the Internet links) to back their comments up to try and convince you they are right. But that still doesn't stop someone from smacking you in the face with something from the Enquirer and insisting it is fact! At which point you pick up the turkey leg and club them over the head and dinner is over! Well at least that's how it used to play out in my house.
